Bayview Sheppard RMT was founded in 2005 by Lisa Macchia and Helen Milic as one of the first stand alone Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) clinics in the North York and the Greater Toronto Area. With a vast amount of experience in different wellness settings over the years, Lisa and Helen saw the need to establish a clinic dedicated exclusively to the practice of massage therapy. Their guiding vision has always been to offer all facets of massage under one roof and to remain on the cutting edge of industry standards and developments.
When we opened our doors on March 22, 2005, we began operating with only 3 RMTs. Our industry has evolved over the years and it has been our privilege to grow with it. Today, we work with a dynamic team of over 30 RMTs and have expanded our practice to include specialty treatments such as Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST), Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), Bioflex Laser, cupping, and more.
A Message from Helen & Lisa
Our guiding philosophy since creating our business in 2005 has always been: Would we come to Bayview Sheppard RMT as clients? To that end, we always look at our clinic through the eyes of the people who walk through our door. We are proud to offer innovative products and services, complemented by exceptional customer service in a friendly, calming atmosphere.
We understand the importance of having a solid team and have the utmost confidence in the skilled and collaborative group of RMTs we have worked so hard to cultivate. It has been our honour to facilitate leadership opportunities for veteran RMTs, some who have been practicing for over 2 decades, and mentorship that guides new graduates to flourish at our clinic. You may notice that all our RMTs have a unique style and approach to massage therapy, however, our philosophy of client care is always aligned. This is reflected back to us time and time again when clients say, “It doesn’t matter who I see at Bayview Sheppard RMT, every therapist is great!”
As we have watched our clinic grow over the years, we have come to realize that we are building more than a business. We are building a community of like-minded professionals who have forged their own bonds and friendships along the way. We are proud to say that our staff are not just colleagues, they are friends. Our collective passion for your health and wellness binds our friendships and we enjoy coming in to work every day.
We realize that little things can greatly affect the overall experience, so our attention to detail is second to none. The result is a positive, inviting and relaxed atmosphere. One that we don’t take for granted, but rather strive to maintain while looking for new ways to improve client experience.
